How
to be Saved (page 3)
THE
CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF SALVATION
by Bishop E.M. Love
One Belief.
The scripture says in (Ephesians 4:5) there is ("One Lord, one
faith, and one baptism.") One faith, one belief. All of us must believe the
same thing. There are not a thousand ways to be saved, there are not ten ways,
there are not a hundred ways, there's only one way.
How To Be Saved? You
only have to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We have to separate so many
things from Christ, Before we can truly believe on Christ or before we can truly
see him as he is. We have been told so many different things all of our life and
so many different things about salvation.
Regardless of what you've been told, let me say this. Your soul belongs to you,
it is your soul and you are responsible for your soul. You must believe to save
yourself regardless of how many friends and relatives you have, they cannot die
for you. They cannot save you. Regardless of what your church affiliation is or
what your denominational doctrine is, there's only one way to be saved.
How To Be Saved?
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved, but believe according
to the scripture.
The Water
Baptism. The water baptism is
just as much a part of the doctrine of salvation as believing on the Lord Jesus
Christ. The doctrine of salvation says that after you have believed on the Lord
Jesus Christ you have an understanding of what to believe. I want to give you an
understanding of why you need to be baptized. Being emerged in water, under the
water, all the way. The water baptism is a part of the doctrine of salvation.
You cannot be saved if you do not execute this part of the doctrine of
salvation. The scripture says in the gospel of (Mark 16:15 & 16). Jesus is talking here,
("He that believeth and is baptized. (I just stated to you that baptism is
just as important as believing on the Lord Jesus Christ). ("He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved.") Your water baptism is just as
essential and it is just as important as your believing on the Lord Jesus
Christ. Your salvation cannot be confirmed, it cannot be complete without that
water baptism. There is a lot of controversy in the world today about baptism.
The gospel of (Luke 3:21 & 22) we see the baptism of the
Lord Jesus Christ. This water baptism of the Lord Jesus Christ was our example,
so it is very important.
(Luke 3:21 & 22) let's read that. I
'Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being
baptized, and praying, the heavens was opened. ") (Luke 3:22) (And the Holy Ghost descended in a
bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said,
Thou art my beloved son in the I am well pleased") We find here that Jesus
also was baptized. He is our example, he set the example.
Baptism In The
Name Of The Father And Of The Son And Of The Holy Ghost. (Matthews 28:19) ("Go ye therefore, and
teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Ghost. ") In the religious world being baptized in the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is a very widely used method of the water
baptism. It is not a proper baptism. There is not one recorded water baptism in
the bible whereby they baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Ghost, not one!!
(Acts 2:38) this is the first water
baptism that we find in the new testament church. This is the birth of the new
testament church. The new testament church was born at the day of Pentecost,
Christianity was born at the day of Pentecost, that is the beginning of the
church.
We do not find not one recorded water baptism in Holy writing whereby men was
baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
Baptism In The
Name Of Jesus For The Remission Of Sin. (Acts 2:38) It's very important that we follow
the directions of the scripture. ("Men Peter said unto them Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins). Let me repeat that, Peter said unto them repent, and be baptized every
one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. "'Repent, and be baptized everyone of
you in the name of Jesus Christ.") This was the first water baptism that we
find in the new testament church. It is the first water baptism. The Holy Ghost
had descended, this was the day of Pentecost. This was the beginning of
Christianity, the beginning of the new testament church that we now have claimed
to be a part of. We find that the first water baptism is done in the name of
Jesus.
Baptism In The
Name Of Jesus. The name of Jesus. Why is it that we should be baptized in the
name of Jesus? That's what I want to show you next, when I show you why you need
to be baptized in the name of Jesus then you can understand why I disagree with
the baptism of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, I disagree with
that because when we talk about the Father and Holy Ghost, (Matthew 28:19)
Jesus says, ("Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.") Note this:
("Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the
Father ")
We know that God has no name, we know that the Father has no name so what this
is really saying is, God must be represented. Go ye and baptize them in
representation of God. I know you understand how we represent someone and how
someone is represented, how companies out in the world are represented. It must
be representative of the Father. The baptism must be representative of the Holy
Ghost. It must be representative of the son of God. The only way all three can
be represented is by Jesus Christ. He was the representation of all three, he
represented God. He was the Son, and he represented the Holy Ghost. He was a
representation of God he was the Son and he was a representative of the Holy
Ghost. The only way the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost can be present, is
to be in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus represent the Father, the Son, and
the Holy Ghost.
(Acts 2:38) we find here at the beginning
of Christianity the Holy Ghost has been given to the church. In order for each
and every person to be properly represented of God for God to be represented,
for the Holy Ghost to be represented you must be baptized in the name of Jesus.
In the name of Jesus represented God, represented Christ, and represented the
Holy Ghost.
Now scripturally that discounts the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Let me show you
another reason which is more factual and more definite why you must be baptized
in the name of Jesus. For this I'm going to take you to (Romans
6:3), ("Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus
Christ was baptized into his death?") You must be baptized into Jesus
Christ. All of us who are born of the spirit of God, are the church in Christ.
How do we get in Christ?
The Water
Baptism. The water baptism
baptizes us into Jesus Christ, (Romans 6:3) ("Know ye not that so many of
us as were baptized into Jesus Christ was baptized into his death?") Verse 4, (Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory
of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.)
Baptism In The
Name Of The Father And Of The Son And Of The Holy Ghost...REJECTED.
If you allow yourself to be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Ghost. You are not executing that scripture, you only recite
that scripture, you're doing nothing but repeating what the scripture says.
(Matthew 28:19) ("Go ye therefore and
teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Ghost.") If you say I'm going to baptize you in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. You're only reciting what the
scripture says. You're not obeying the scripture. The scripture say use a name.
If there is not a name to use, Father and Son and Holy Ghost is not names, but
titles.
The only representation we have seen of God in the earth has been by his only
begotten son Christ Jesus. Christ came as a representative of God, and he
definitely was himself in person and he also represented the Holy Ghost. You
must obey this scripture (Matthew 28:19) ("Go
ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Ghost.ä) You must obey, the only way that scripture can be
obeyed, not recited, is by being baptized in the name of Jesus. The name of
Jesus will get the thing that you are trying to achieve here in verse 19. (Romans 6:3 &
4) the ultimate goal where salvation is concerned is that you must get
into Christ. Christ is your righteousness, Christ is your salvation, he is the
righteousness of God. Man has no righteousness as far as he is concerned and
there's no way we can be righteous, so therefore once we get into Christ Jesus,
he becomes our righteousness and he becomes our sanctification. The church must
be in Christ. How do we get into Christ?
The Doctrine Of
Salvation. Salvation means that you are getting yourself
saved. How do you get yourself saved? Getting yourself saved means that you got
to get yourself saved.
You've already believed that Jesus was the Son and not God, you've already
accepted him as the Son, you're already believed that he is the Son of God and
you've already believed God sent his only begotten Son to the world. When you
have believed that you accept him as the Son. You got to do something else. How
can I make this work for me? What else do I have to do? You've got to get in
him. The way into Christ, is to be baptized into him.
The Lord Jesus Christ stated in (Mark 16:16) (that believe and is baptized.") You must be
baptized into Jesus Christ, that is the reason for using the name of Jesus. (Romans 6:3 & 4) says (Know ye not that so
many of us that was baptized into Jesus Christ was baptized into his
death.") Now listen, ("Know ye not that so many of us as were baptized
into Jesus Christ. ") So you must be baptized into Jesus Christ.
How do we be baptized into Jesus Christ? The only way you can be baptized into
Jesus Christ is by being baptized in the name of Jesus. (Acts 2:38)
the church was being born, this was the day of Pentecost. This was the beginning
of Christianity. The beginning of the new testament church. We find here in
verse 37 of Acts 2 and note this very carefully because it will point out here
the concern of the people. ("Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their hearts and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and
brethren, what shall we do?") What shall we do to be saved? Peter said unto
them ("Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ.
") You know why he said this? Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost. You must get into Christ.
(Romans 6:3 & 4) we find why Peter
stated this. Verse 3 ("Know ye not that so many of us as were baptized into
Jesus Christ") not God, you were not baptized into God you were baptized
into Jesus Christ. God had to be represented.
Why does God have to be represented? Well naturally this is God's program, you
and I don't have God. How can we represent God? What else in the world is there
to represent God? Christ came as a representative of God he came as a
representative, he was the Son he was not God he was the Son of the living God.
He came and represented the kind of God, God is. That's how we know the kind of
God he is because Christ have represented him and he also represented the Holy
Ghost. Now, in order to complete our salvation we must get into Christ that is
our ultimate goal. Salvation means that you must get into Christ.
Now if you sit there and say Jesus come into my heart, that is backwards,
because you got to get into him. The bible says, the church is in Christ. We are
in Christ and the ultimate goal of every person is to get into Jesus Christ. How
do we get in? First we must believe he's Jesus, we went over that in the first
segment. In the first segment we thoroughly showed you what you must believe and
how you must believe. Now you are executing that belief, you are executing it by
getting into Christ. You are saving yourself, you are saving yourself, it is as
simple as that. You can save yourself anytime that you will believe and do that
which you must do to be saved. What must I do to be saved? We read that in (Acts 16:30
& 31). What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
and thou shall be saved, but at the same time the Apostle Paul took them and
baptized them in the name of Jesus.
Now keep one thing in mind, there is not a water baptism in the scripture
nowhere where men were baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Ghost. You can't find not one place where the Apostles baptized anyone
that way. Why? Because they knew that Christ was referring to all three being
represented. God must be represented, the Holy Ghost must be represented, and
the Son
must be represented, and the only way that we can be sure that those three
powers are represented is that we must be baptized in the name of Jesus.
The name of Jesus is the representation of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Bless God, I hope that this lesson
has inspired you to take advantage of it.
