How
to be Saved (page 2)
THE
CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE OF SALVATION
by Bishop E.M. Love
Christ
Separated From God. There is a thinking that the
Godhead is a mystery, but the Godhead is not a mystery to a
believer, a believer has believed God. Note, (John 3:16) (For
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.")
Here we have a separation of God and Christ. If you think towards
the Godhead as being incomprehensible, (incomprehensible means
that it cannot be understood), then you have confused yourself.
If you look at (John 3:16) the bible separates God and Christ right away.
Immediately at the beginning of salvation. To a believer the
Godhead is not a mystery, if it was a mystery then you woul don't
know what you believe, so therefore your belief would not be
clarified.
The
Trinity. If you think towards
them as being a trinity (in the sense that they are three
personalities in one, one person who is manifesting himself in
three different people), that's confusion. The reason I say that
is confusion, is you are not believing according to the
scripture.
(Acts 16:30) says ("What must I do to be saved?") Believe
that God is a trinity, no! Believe that God and the Father and
Holy Ghost are all one person, no! You don't find that as an
application of belief to be saved. The Apostle Paul said to the
jailer, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. You say well, what does
that mean believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? Should I believe that
he is God? The scripture did not say that, it did not say that
believe he is God and thou shall be saved. Should I believe that
he is the Holy Ghost? The scripture did not say believe that he
is a spirit. Believe he is a spirit and thou shall be saved. The
scripture did not say believe that he is a trinity, one of the
Gods in the Godhead and thou shall be saved. The scripture does
not say it that way.
How To
Be Saved? First of all, we
must know how to believe and we must first know what to believe.
The Apostle Paul says in (Acts
16:30) he said it again, ("What must I
do to be saved?") The Apostle Paul said believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ. All of these other things that men have injected
into salvation and into the Godhead, and all these other
applications that are placed in the doctrine of salvation, has us
thinking that we are saved this way, it is not scriptural.
The
Godhead Is Not A Mystery. The
Godhead is not incomprehensible to a believer. The Godhead is not
a mystery to a believer. Why? A believer has accepted Jesus
Christ as the son of God. A believer receives him as Jesus and
not God. You have received him as Jesus. You have received him as
the son. In the process you are also going to become a son. How
are you a son? If God is a mystery and if the Godhead is
incomprehensible, then how is Christ a son? We are sons of God in
the same way that Jesus is a son of God. We have been born of God
and we have been born of the spirit of God. Jesus was born of
God. He was the first born of God, we have also been born in his
likeness.
So therefore, how to be saved is how to believe. When we talk
about what must I do to be saved? How to be saved? You first must
know what to believe. You first must believe what to believe. You
must believe those things that you must believe. Some of the
things that we have been accustomed to I have separated them, I
want to bring you right to the hard scripture I want to bring you
right to the facts.
The
Separation of God and Christ. You will probably
be told and probably have been told that the Godhead is a mystery
that it's incomprehensible it cannot be understood. You're
probably been told that you cannot separate Christ from God. The
bible here in (John 3:16) [which is the most simplest scripture in all the bible]
did it immediately, immediately this scripture separates God from
Christ, because the bible says ("God so loved the world that
he gave his only begotten son. ") The bible is also telling
me that God did not come, (John
3:16) ("but sent his son") so God
did not come.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. What
must you believe?
Salvation is predicated on what you believe. The Apostle Paul
told the jailer what he must believe. Salvation is guaranteed if
you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. When you believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ you have separated him from God, you separate
him from the angels, you have separated him from the archangel
and you have made him a son. You have made him the son of God in
the same way that you are going to be a son of God. You have
taken the mystery away because you have not believed on a
confusion but you have believed on the truth as the bible puts
it. How to be saved? You must first know what to believe in order
to be saved. Let me read (John
3:16) ("For God so loved the world
that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in
him shall not perish,") not whosoever believeth on God, but
("whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have
everlasting life.") That is what you must believe. Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved.
You might say, I've believed on Christ all my life.. Fine! If you
can separate the things that I have separated for you then you
can see Christ clearly. (John
3:16) separates the son. ("God sent
his son and that whosoever believe on him ") not on God. God
took himself out of the way of salvation because he sent
salvation in Christ. He took himself out away from it.
In our second segment we're going to tell you what you must do to
complete your salvation. We have just instructed you throughout
this first segment as to what you must believe. How To Be Saved.
You cannot be saved until you first believe. You cannot be saved
until you believe what you must believe first. You cannot be
saved until you become a believer. Become a believer of what?
You might say well I believe in God that's fine, the devil does
to, the devil believe in God and tremble, but the bible does not
tell us this. The bible tells us that ("God so loved the
world that he gave his only begotten son and whosoever believeth
in him.") There must be a separation in the out set of your
belief You must single out what you must believe. So you'll know
who you are dealing with. So from that point on this is the
foundation, What you must believe, what you must believe is the
foundation of your salvation and throughout eternity you will
have an understanding as to how you are saved. What you must do
to be saved and how to be saved and what saved you. You will have
an understanding as to what saved you.
I know that salvation is a questionable issue because we have so
many sayings that we go by. There is a saying that say I can be
saved by my own belief. You can believe anything. When I look out
on the world today and see how there are over a thousand
different doctrines of salvation, the people are believing
anything. If you're going to say salvation is by people's own
belief then, why did God send his only begotten son? Why did
Jesus go to the cross and die for our sins? That he might pave
the way for our salvation. Therefore, you cannot be saved by your
own belief.
